Malta is a hub for all sorts of things and all year round there are events happening. Obviously summer is where the bulk of it all happens because the island comes to life with tourists, beaches become populated, the nightlife gets a new flare of people and everyone is in a partying mood. Not to mention that the nightlife in Malta is one of the best in Europe so you know there will be an influx of young tourists looking to enjoy their night on the island.
A lot of big and massive events/festivals take place during the summer also, events like Earth Garden, Beer Fest, Glitch Festival and many more. These are massive events which are something to look forward to on a yearly basis but this is not all. All year round there are events to look forward too, almost every month Malta has something amazing to offer the general public and it is recommended that you know what’s happening because you might miss out on something great and spectacular.
Here we will be discussing the massive events that will be happening during Autumn, everything that you should be on the lookout for and make sure not to miss out! Always be sure to do some research on the calendar events that are happening on the island because some might be small but still worth visiting.
Malta book Festival
For all you book lovers out there, this event is just for you. Taking place between the 6th and the 10th of November at MCC in Valletta make sure not to miss this one. Here you can expect a lot of books being sold, whether they are second hand, new or some that might be on the shelves for the first time, you are surely in for a treat.
During the book festival, there are also some talks by either Maltese authors or other influential people in the literary scene so make sure to pop by if you are interested.
Since the festival is Valletta, after you are done you can go for a stroll within the lovely city or go for a drink in one of its many bars and restaurants that stay open during the late hours of the day.
This is a comedy show loved by all, taking place on the 18th, 19th, 26th, 27th of October and the 1st and 2nd of November at MFCC in Ta’ Qali. This show is Maltese comedy at its finest. Offering some of the best acts that there are today, you can expect jokes on everything that is happening, a sort of no holds barred of comedy. Nothing is off-limits, whether it is politics, the current state of malta, anything happening on the media and everything international is within their grasp to make fun of.
Make sure you save one of the dates and go to this show because it is truly an experience.
This festival started in 2011 with the aim to develop a certain creative sense for children and young people and instil a certain creative flame that non-other festival can do. The organisers have commissioned over 60 new projects of a variety of different genres, themes and creative art forms. They have also collaborated with a variety of different artists.
This festival will be happening from the 15-24th of November. Schools are encouraged to take their students to one of the days if not more of this event. The festival encourages children to stimulate their creative muscle and hone their skills and imagination.
We have only scratched the surface of what is happening in Autumn and there are obviously more events happening, so make sure to do your own research and not miss out on anything. There might be some smaller events and/or exhibitions that will be happening during this time so always stay with your eyes peeled.
