Music Festivals to Look Forward in Malta during May 2019

May is going to be an interesting year in the musical folklore of Malta again. With international festivals happening such as Lost and Found and the local popular festival of Beland in Zejtun.

During this article we will take you into the festivals you shouldn’t miss in Malta during May 2019.

Lost and Found, Cafe Del Mar

Lost and Found is a popular festival which people from abroad come to Malta for the event itself.

This year’s festival will celebrate its 5th year anniversary starting from Thursday 2nd May and ends on 5th May. It’s touted to be the best one yet due to the festivities expected at the Cafe Del Mar.

While the times are not clear at this stage, it is expected to run each day from afternoon till early the day after.

Keep an eye on their facebook page for more information about times and artists. The list is sure to include the international Chase & Status and Black Madonna.

Apart from the festival itself, the event will include other day and night parties for anyone who either bought a ticket for the festival or not.

Beland Music Festival, Bulebel

Beland Music Festival is a local festival in Zejtun for the eighth straight year. The festivities will take part between Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th May.

The artists are generally local artists who are promising as it’s a competition.

The winner this year will have a free studio to develop a single and a video.

The competition opened and closed in April and 6 will be selected, 2 every night, for this festival.

Before it was a competition it used to be the home of some top artists in the country, however, Beland decided to change this to competition and try to give promising artists the chance to shine.

Beland Music Festival 2019 is supported by the Arts Council Malta and will likely start in the Evening until late.

The festival doesn’t require registration but it’s better you get early as it gets full early on due to its popularity.

Long Live the Queen, Ghaxaq Grounds

Ghaxaq music events are renowned for their thorough planning for musical events in the Ghaxaq Grounds.

And this year they didn’t fail to excite fans around the local scene as it will be home for one of the best Queen Tribute Band in Europe.

Long Live the Queen will be a show in the Ghaxaq Grounds in Malta during May 2019.

The entrance will be a fee but there will be a donation and VIP tickets available in Aid of Dar Bjorn.

This show, on 17 May, is sure to feature the top queen releases during their time including Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, The Show must go on, we will rock you and Love of my life.

Some of the previous shows include Winter Moods, Pink Floyd Project and Modern Talking.

The Long Live the Queen Show is surely going to be massive as these past shows. Don’t miss out whether you are a local or a foreigner.

La Remembranca

Started in 2016, after a number of Soloists and chamber musicians from around the world were available to work in this independent and flexible formation.

The direction is that of the reputable and acclaimed flutist Paco Varoch.

His portfolio includes but not limited to early baroque to contemporary work which makes your mind peaceful after listening.

La Remebranca will give a show in Robert Samut Hall in Floriana on the 25th May together with a number of a number of the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra.

The tracks played will include Thomas Greeting, Jean Phillippe Rameau, Louis Claude Daquin and not least Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi’s famous concertos.
